Brief Bios

Lloyd Yeo is a Master Teacher (History) at the Academy of Singapore Teachers (AST), Ministry of Education, where he has served since 2016. He leads the History Subject Chapter and drives professional development in areas such as game- and museum-based learning, multidisciplinary approaches, inquiry-based learning, and differentiated instruction.

Previously, Lloyd was a teacher leader, Head of Department, and school leader at St. Gabriel’s and Montfort Secondary Schools, where he strengthened humanities programmes. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the St. Gabriel’s Foundation, a Catholic charity supporting education and welfare for children and youth in need.

His research focuses on students’ historical misconceptions, museum-based learning, and Master Classes as a professional development model. He also explores how teacher narratives and networked learning communities foster leadership and sustained professional growth.

Combining disciplinary expertise with pedagogical and leadership experience, Lloyd brings a strong practitioner–researcher perspective to advancing history education through the use of multi-disciplinary, game-based learning and museum-based/field trips design in advancing  teacher professional learning in Singapore.
